Green Prosperity – Three year Big Lottery funded project to January 2016
Green Prosperity is a three year Big Lottery funded project to help make a difference when it comes to issues where we have identified evidence of need.
The project aims to encourage local people to develop their entrepreneurial skills to support sustainable living. We want to engage members of the community in the process of developing new skills and appreciating how activities such as producing their own food can be beneficial both financially and physically, as well as how rewarding and enjoyable the process can be.
Project Aims:
- Increase prosperity within the community through efficient use of energy.
- Increase the number of people producing their own food leading to a development of new skills and a more sustainable lifestyle.
- More local people developing their entrepreneurial skills to support sustainable living.
- Elderly and vulnerable people removed from fuel poverty or exclusion through access to green homecare services.
- Reduction in the levels of all forms of domestic waste per household by encouraging residents to reduce, reuse, recycle and compost more
