EMS Ltd is delighted to work in partnership with a number of schools around Hull and the East Riding, under both our Growing and Nature strands of work.
In relation to nature we work with schools on a range of practical educational activities focusing on the natural environment. We support schools to develop nature areas on site through tree and wildflower meadow planting. We have the knowledge and experience within our team to help schools select the best species of trees, shrubs and flowers for their site, to work with staff and children to undertake a site survey and create a planting plan and to help the school arrange and run planting days with the involvement of parents, children and the wider community.
We also offer follow-on outdoor and classroom-based nature education sessions across a diverse range of topics, from growing trees from seed, to building and decorating bird boxes, bat boxes and bug hotels to identifying, monitoring and learning key facts about flora and fauna on site. By integrating learning about the natural environment into the teaching curriculum all our schools nature work aims to help children gain a better understanding of the biodiversity on their doorstep and inspire within them a lifelong passion for the natural world.
